Flatbed Trucking
Open deck freight experts. Standard flatbed, step deck, and hotshot options for steel, equipment, and oversized loads nationwide.
Open Deck Freight Done Right
Flatbed trucking is what we do best. Whether it's a load of structural steel, a piece of heavy equipment, or building materials headed to a job site, open deck freight requires more than just a trailer, it requires expertise.
We've built our reputation on flatbed hauling that shows up on time, secured properly, and delivered without damage. Our carrier network includes experienced flatbed operators who know how to handle awkward loads, strap and tarp correctly, and navigate delivery to challenging locations.
Nationwide freight brokerage with exceptional coverage in Texas, Louisiana, and the Southeast.
Flatbed Trailer Options
Standard Flatbed (48' & 53')
The workhorse of open deck freight. 48,000 lb capacity, ideal for steel, lumber, pipe, and palletized freight that can load from the side or top.
Max dimensions:
- • Length: 48' or 53'
- • Width: 8'6"
- • Height: 8'6" (legal)
Step Deck (Drop Deck)

Upper and lower deck. Lower deck height for taller freight. Ideal for machinery and equipment that won't clear standard flatbed height limits.
Max dimensions:
- • Length: 48'-53'
- • Lower deck height: ~10'
Hotshot (20'-40')

Smaller gooseneck trailers for lighter, time-sensitive loads. Faster dispatch, fits where full semis can't. Popular for oilfield, construction, and equipment.
Learn MoreStep Deck Trucking
Step deck trucking, also called drop deck, gives you extra height clearance for freight that won't fit on a standard flatbed. The lowered deck sits about 3.5' from the ground versus 5' on a standard flatbed, making it the one of the go to choices for tall machinery, large equipment, and anything pushing legal height limits.
We match step deck capacity to your load requirements. Need a removable gooseneck (RGN) for drive-on loading? We've got that too.
Securement & Tarping Expertise
Flatbed freight is only as good as the securement. We work with carriers who take proper load securement seriously.
Securement equipment:
- • Straps and chains rated for load weight
- • Edge protectors to prevent strap damage
- • Dunnage and blocking for load stability
- • Coil racks for steel coil shipments
- • Tarps for weather protection
Tarping options:
- • Lumber tarps (lightweight, versatile)
- • Steel tarps (heavy-duty, larger coverage)
- • Smoke tarps (4' front coverage)

When to Use Flatbed Trucking
Flatbed is the right choice when:
- • Freight is too large, heavy, or awkward for enclosed trailers
- • Loading requires crane, forklift, or side access
- • Cargo exceeds standard height but fits within legal limits
- • You're shipping steel, pipe, equipment, machinery, or building materials
- • The load needs to be tarped rather than fully enclosed
Not sure if flatbed is right?
→ Tall/heavy equipment that exceeds legal limits: Over-Dimensional
→ Smaller urgent loads: Hotshot
→ Sharing truck space to save money: Partial Truckload
